Cabarete Wind Statistics

Wind and weather in the North Coast of the Dominican Republic

The trade winds with thermals make for strong and consistent winds. The wind blows easterly, which gives the north coast of Dominican Republic kisurfing conditions most of the time.Cabarete is fortunate to boast over 300 windy days a year on average.

At around 12:30  the thermals kick in and make the wind a lot stronger reaching its strongest at about 4PM.

The water temperature is always about a comfy 26°C  so you don't ever really need a wetsuit.

It is also worth mentioning that here in the Dominican Republic, there are no sharks, crocodiles, hydras, killer box jellyfish...

Due to our amazingly good Kitesurfing weather conditions, Cabarete and the North Coast of Dominican Republic has a very high concentration of talented local riders, and has produced many Kiteboarding stars, such as; Ariel Corniel, Idani Capellan, Alex Soto, Posito Martinez....

And don't forget, in Cabarete we have a rules !
